Image & Attribution Policy
Last updated June 4, 2026
Overview
MuralHire takes mural image rights, attribution, and representation seriously. This policy explains the standards MuralHire uses when sourcing, displaying, and crediting mural-related imagery.
Core Rule
MuralHire should not publish a mural image unless it can identify:
- the mural artist
- the photographer or source
- the basis for reuse
Acceptable Reuse Bases
MuralHire may rely on:
- explicit written permission
- a clear commercial-use license
- a verified reusable public-domain or free-license source with proper attribution captured
What Is Not Enough
Credit alone is not always enough. A mural image can involve rights in both:
- the photo itself
- the mural artwork depicted in the photo
If rights or authorship are unclear, MuralHire may decline to publish the image.
Attribution
Where applicable, MuralHire aims to identify:
- mural artist
- photographer or source owner
- source URL
- license type or permission basis
Attribution should be visible and not misleading.
Neutral Representation Rule
Featuring a mural image does not automatically mean the artist is a MuralHire member.
MuralHire will avoid language that implies:
- representation
- membership
- endorsement
unless the artist has actually joined the platform or explicitly authorized that framing.
Artist Submissions
Artists and users who submit images or portfolio content are responsible for ensuring that:
- the material is accurate
- required credits are identified
- they have authority to submit or authorize the content
Removal and Review
MuralHire may remove, decline, or pause images if:
- rights are disputed
- attribution is missing or unclear
- authorship cannot be verified
- permission or license is uncertain
- the content creates representation risk
Public Highlights
Approved mural highlights may appear on public city pages or related surfaces only when the required rights, attribution, and platform checks are satisfied.
